Support

All learners complete an initial assessment or skill scan as part of the start process.

This assessment helps the tutors to identify your strengths in core skills and highlight any areas where you may need support, which will be discussed with you on one of your visits.

This then links to the diagnostic tool which looks at those highlighted areas and sets you work to help you develop these skills as you go through your course.

Assessment

You will be assigned a tutor at the start of your qualification who will be there to support you through your learning journey. The workplace assessments are flexible to meet your needs and include observations, recorded discussions, using a witness and assignments.

You will have regular visits with your tutor, between once a month and once every 8 weeks. These visits are to complete the workplace assessments and to provide support to work on your qualification.

Training room activities aim to cover a wide range of learning styles, and we offer both online and paper-based exams for learners. Depending on the course, training sessions run once a month to once every 6 weeks.

We have an online portfolio system Onefile. All learners can access this system to track their own progress, upload work, receive feedback from their tutor and access resources. The system can be accessed from any laptop, tablet or mobile device.

For learners on the management programme, all learners receive a unique log in to access ManagementDirect, an online resource with case studies, videos and key documents in subject areas to assist in further learning as well as offering exclusive membership to CMI for the duration of your course.

Additional Learning Support

Additional visits can be offered to learners to support with completing work or for Functional Skills support to work on core English, Maths and ICT skills.

If you have a specific need, we can access resources such as coloured paper, screen overlays, additional time in exams or a reader for exams. Your needs can be discussed with your designated tutor and a plan drawn up.

British Values

The 4 core British Values are naturally embedded throughout the whole learning journey, again promoting wider skills and inclusivity. Learners will complete discussions as part of their English speaking and listening assessments to demonstrate their understanding.

Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

The PLTS framework forms part of all qualifications and explores individual skills including reflection, participation and creative thinking. Learners complete an initial assessment task which is reviewed at regular intervals.
